Intern at the A.R.K.
The A.R.K. offers an internship opportunity for students seeking experience working with wildlife that provides hands-on experience working with a variety of wildlife species. Interns work under the supervision of a wildlife rehabilitator.
Skills acquired include:

Animal handling and care (including nutrition needs, transport, medical procedures)

Lab experience
-
Administering medical care to injured wildlife (gavages, vaccinations, subcutaneous hydration, etc.)

Species identification and research
-
Public relations skills
-
Habitat construction
-
Cage set-up/husbandry techniques
-
Opportunity to handle education raptors and become an education team member

We’re looking for enthusiastic, hard-working individuals interested in working with wildlife.
Requirements:

Good physical stamina and health

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Academic background in biological or environmental sciences preferred
A final project on a wildlife-related topic,determined in conjunction with your advisor, is strongly recommended.

Volunteer at the A.R.K.
Are you interested in giving back to your community while helping injured and orphaned wildlife? A.R.K. is always seeking responsible and hardworking volunteers. Areas that require volunteers include feeding and caring for wildlife, laundry, animal enrichment, and education. No experience? No worries! Training is provided.
Many of our volunteers have been with the A.R.K. for years and find it to be a very rewarding experience! Volunteering provides a unique opportunity to see and learn about wildlife that most people never get to see up close, and be a part of their journey to recovery.
